What is Rubber Plaster Mold Casting?

Here at Protocast Inc., we’re big fans of rubber plaster mold casting. We can already hear you asking--“What is rubber plaster mold casting and what can I use it for?” Don’t worry, because we’re here to answer all of your questions.

What is Rubber Plaster Mold Casting?

Simply put, we use a number of different techniques that all come together to create a silicone master tool to create a part. Once that process is complete, the silicone tooling is used to make a number of different plaster molds. When the mold is heated and cured, hot metal is poured in. The wonderful part about rubber plaster mold casting is that in most cases, we can use the mold to make hundreds of parts without any degradation to the final product.

How Can Rubber Plaster Mold Casting Be Used?

The biggest benefit is that it can be a great fit for electronic enclosures that heat integrated sink fins. It also works great for complex parts that are cast from magnesium or aluminum. It’s perfect if you need to run between five and two hundred and fifty parts.

There you have it. The wonderful benefits of rubber plaster mold casting summed up very nicely if we do say so ourselves. If you have questions about this process or any of the others that we offer at Protocast Inc. or if you need a quote for your latest project, don’t hesitate to contact us.
